founder, team & vision

founder & mission

Mike Opatik grew up in a family-owned manufacturing business which he took to at a young age, programming NC sheet metal fabrication equipment by the time he was 14.

As he assumed more leadership he identified the potential in defense manufacturing while analyzing the markets they served, and facilitated a full transition to defense contracts that rapidly doubled their annual revenue. This growth period allowed his father to sell 100% of the business and enter retirement.

Mike started Opatik Defense Manufacturing with an early focus in military application fluid transfer assemblies, strictly designed for prime contracts with the US Department of Defense. Opatik’s effective sales strategies and efficient supply chain management allowed their team to transition into prime contracts placed through a large network of subcontractors who now handle all physical manufacturing.

This approach has allowed Opatik to effectively bid on the open market in firm fixed price contracts, and scale the business with a team of highly trained sales and project managers, lead by family, in keeping to the core tenets of the business his father started years before.

CORE TEAM

OUR VISION

As Opatik’s growth has been fueled by building official partnerships with our subcontractors via Teaming Agreements and Joint Ventures, we remain driven to continue serving our community. Hiring a Director of M&A for the acquisition of other defense contractors and manufacturers, our goal is to expand this service by facilitating the certification of our new partnerships as Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) seen as the “Golden Set-Aside” with the Defense Industrial Base.
